1882 $1 PCGS MS 67 Amazing Gem!!
Service: PCGS | Rating: MS 67
When found, the 1882 gold dollar is usually Mint State, and likely a high grade at that, but with fewer superb examples seen than among the previous issues. The date can be considered another of the “hoard” issues. Small groups have been broken up over the years and have quietly entered the marketplace. In early 2006, a PCGS MS-68 example realized $14,950 at auction. The authors monitor the United States gold coin market very carefully, and it should be noted that it has been many years since any of these issues were found in quantity. The rare coin market is vastly larger than in the past, and even a significant group would be absorbed instantly by the ferocious demand of today’s collectors.
Due to market volatility, prices and availiability on coins are subject to change.
