1911 $20 PCGS MS 64 Low Mintage Scarce
Service: PCGS | Rating: MS 64
Like other Philadelphia Mint issues from this period, the 1911 double eagle is very scarce in gem MS-65 grades or finer. In slightly lower grades of MS-64, an example can be obtained. Most examples were sharply struck, but luster varies from coin to coin, from strong to average. In terms of those certified, this date falls near the center of the issue as the 28th of the 54-coin series. One of the finest known was recently sold: a PCGS MS-67 coin (November 2005) for $46,000. Another PCGS MS-66 coin brought $34,500 at the same time and sale as the MS-67 example discussed above. Also, a PCGS MS-65 example realized (May 1998) $17,600.
Due to market volatility, prices and availiability on coins are subject to change.
