This specimen is a very nice example of Templeton Reid’s coinage. This coin is from the Clifford-Kagin Collection of Pioneer Gold. The obverse well centered and exhibits considerable prooflike surfaces and luster. There is a mark through the lower part of the E and under the O of Georgia and above the 2 of $2.50 on the reverse. It is currently shown in the inventory of Don Kagin. This coin represents the second finest known by only a slight margin. It is one of approximately 24 known of this rare Territorial Gold Coin from the South.
